INESC Lisboa: Historic Meeting of INOV, INESC ID, and INESC MN Institutes
On November 3, a historic moment was marked by the first-ever joint meeting of the three INESC institutes based in Lisbon: INOV – INESC Inovação, INESC ID, and INESC MN. This meeting was designed with a clear objective – to foster synergies and enhance collaboration among these excellence centers in research and development (R&D).
These three institutes, INOV – INESC Inovação, INESC ID, and INESC MN, located in Lisbon, are part of the INESC group, thus reinforcing their commitment to scientific research, technological development, and innovation.
The main goal of this meeting was to promote knowledge sharing, thereby driving scientific and technological innovation that has a substantial impact on various areas of our society. Strengthening collaboration among these entities has the potential to trigger significant advancements in the research landscape in Portugal and around the world.
A critical component for the success of these collaborations is INESC Serviços, a platform that plays a crucial role in enabling the work carried out by the institutes within the INESC Lisboa group. This platform serves as the backbone that facilitates the coordination and integration of efforts, ensuring that synergies translate into tangible results.
The event was structured to include both joint and individual sessions, providing a comprehensive overview of the capabilities and achievements of each institute. For example, INOV organized sessions where external partners were invited to share insights about the significance of their work in supporting companies, empowering them with essential technological knowledge.
Two aspects highlighted as fundamental for INOV’s future are effective communication and the productization of developed systems. These are pillars that will enhance the visibility and impact of INOV’s initiatives, aligning them with the evolving needs of the industry and society.
The highlight of the event was the closing session led by the Minister of Economy and the Sea, António Costa Silva. The Minister emphasized the importance of the work carried out by the three INESC institutes in Lisbon and issued an inspiring challenge: to continue making significant contributions to technological development and innovation in Portugal. With a focus on the future, the commitment of all involved remains steadfast, paving the way for remarkable advances in research and innovation.
