Training the farmers of the future means teaching more than production techniques. Agriculture is becoming increasingly connected, supported by sensors, data and precision technologies that make it possible to monitor, interpret and act on the physical world. Preparing professionals for this reality also means understanding the technology that makes it possible. This is the context in which INOV developed iNsense, an educational kit that brings Internet of Things (IoT) technologies into the classroom.
Designed for education and vocational training, iNsense allows students to explore the complete journey of an IoT solution: from data collection through sensors to data processing and visualisation, and ultimately to using that information to trigger actions.
The kit integrates sensors, actuators, microcontrollers and communication technologies, including a LoRa network for exploring long-range wireless communications. Developed as an integrated solution by INOV, iNsense brings together technological design, production, integration, configuration and installation in educational institutions.
The aim is to go beyond learning each technology in isolation and show how different components come together to build a complete IoT system — a practical approach that reflects the technologies and challenges encountered in professional environments.
iNsense is already installed in two national schools , where it enables students to experiment with these technologies and develop practical skills in the field of Internet of Things.
