Xsealence
Xsealence, more than a strategic partner of INOV, is a company that arises from a spin-off process of a technology that reached maturity.
Beginning
It is fair to say that the history of Xsealence begins with the history of the MONICAP project, developed initially by INESC and later under INOV.
Established in 1988, the MONICAP project was a world leader in the use of GPS technology and satellite communications in fishing fleets, a leadership cemented during the 1990s.
Development
This project, financed by the Secretary of State for Fisheries, signed in 1992 the first contract to supply units with the Portuguese state, and in 1997 it also signed the first contract with the Angolan state, entering this market at the end of the decade.
With the MONICAP project technology fully produced, its Technology Readiness Level (TRL) led to the spin-off process, from which Xsealence was born in 2013.
