dtFLY Link

Multiplatform fiber channel interface

Objective

dtFLY Link is a multiplatform fiber channel interface, which provides high reliability, high bandwidth and low overhead data transfer solutions while maintaining a simple design and easy integration so contributing for the time-to-market goals by relieving the host system designer from concerning about the details of data flushing.

Impact

The link provides two board formats, allowing a diversity of combinations between them, maximizing the flexibility and application spectrum. The dtFLY Link uses some well known standard protocols such as PCI Express®, Aurora and S-Link.

dtFLY Link M

The dtFLY Link M is a mezzanine board designed to grant the host with the capability of exchanging data with another system, either by linking to another dtFLY Link M board or by linking to a dtFLY Link P board and thereby connecting to a PCIe® bus. Based on a Xilinx® Virtex4™ FPGA and Avago™ SFP transceivers, the dtFLY Link M exchanges data at a rate speed of up to 380MBps (single-link) or 600Mbps (dual-link). The FPGA core enables the maximum flexibility possible as it can also accommodate configurable hardware add-ons.

dtFLY Link P

The dtFLY Link P is a PCIe® board designed to connect to a PC host in order to grant the host the capability of exchanging data with another system, either by linking to another dtFLY Link P board or by linking to a dtFLY Link M board. Based on a Xilinx® Virtex4™ FPGA and two Avago™ SFP transceivers, the dtFLY Link P exchanges data at a rate speed of up to 380MBps (single-link) or 600Mbps (dual-link). The FPGA core enables the maximum flexibility possible as it can also accommodate configurable hardware add-ons.
