CICLOPE Director Spotlights Forest Tech at F4A Seminar

In recognition of his exemplary contributions to forest management technology, Luis Silva, Director of the CICLOPE project at INOV – INESC Inovação, has been invited to participate as a speaker at the upcoming Forest for All (F4A) seminar. The event is set to explore the challenges and opportunities facing the Portuguese forest under the theme “Portuguese Forest: Addressing Challenges, Exploring Opportunities.”

Given Luis Silva’s pivotal role within INOV and his leadership in the development of the CICLOPE project,, particularly in the development and implementation of the Forest Fire Monitoring System, Luis Silva brings invaluable insights into the vital role technology plays in detecting and managing rural wildfires, as well as preserving our precious forest resources.

INOV believes that his presentation will offer a unique perspective on how innovative technology can be applied to tackle one of the greatest challenges in forest management faced by Portugal: wildfires.

The seminar is scheduled for April 3rd, at 2:00 PM, hosted at the Centro de Negócios de Ansião. Luis Silva was granted a 15-minute slot to present the CICLOPE project. This will be followed by a 20-minute round table discussion and conclude with a 10-minute Q&A session, providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the groundbreaking technology employed in forest preservation and management.

This seminar promises to be a gathering of minds dedicated to fostering innovation and collaboration in the pursuit of sustainable forest management solutions. The inclusion of Luis Silva and the CICLOPE project adds a critical dimension to the discussions, showcasing the transformative power of technology in addressing the challenges faced by Portugal’s forests.

Forest for All looks forward to a thought-provoking session, marked by Luis Silva’s expertise and the collaborative spirit of the attendees, as they collectively strive to create a resilient and thriving future for the Portuguese forest.
